El Impenetrable is the story of Danielle, a filmmaker, who inherited of his father 5000 hectares of land in the impenetrable native forest of the chaco in Paraguay. It is about the struggle to establish a nature reserve and giving back the land to the natives. The land is in the midst of cattle breeders who want to deforest the untouched nature. Paraguay has a territory of 406752 square kilometers. But there exist land titles for 529000 square kilometers. During the Stroessner dictatorship corrupt officials sold many of the titles of the national terrain twice or more times. Also the land of Danielle was sold two times. This is the story of a conflict between landowners, politicians, natives and activists. Read more (german).
